# Activate the paid version

Businesses can activate the paid version within sixty days after the [trial period](../concepts/trial-period.md) expires. Otherwise, all resources will be deleted. If you have not used up your [initial grant](../concepts/bonus-account.md) during the trial period, you can use its balance to pay for your resources in the future.

The paid version can be activated by users with the `billing.accounts.owner` [role](../security/index.md#billing-accounts-owner).

To upgrade to the paid version:

- Yandex Cloud Billing interface {#billing}
  
  1. Go to [**Yandex Cloud Billing**](https://center.yandex.cloud/billing/accounts).
  1. Select a billing account.
  1. On the ![image](../../_assets/console-icons/flag.svg) **Account** page, click **Switch to the paid version**.
  1. Confirm the action by clicking **Switch to the paid version** again.

Upon activation of the paid version, your [personal account balance](../concepts/personal-account.md#balance) will be zero by default. We recommend that you keep track and [maintain a positive balance](pay-the-bill.md) at all times.
