# Yandex Cloud Shell quotas and limits

When using the Cloud Shell terminal, the user account is subject to _limits_, i.e., technical constraints due to the Yandex Cloud architecture. You cannot change the limits.

#### Limits {#cloud-shell-limits}

| Maximum active session time                                          | 12 hours      |
| Maximum number of concurrent active sessions                        | 4             |
| Maximum Cloud Shell usage time per day              | Unlimited |
| Maximum Cloud Shell usage time per week            | 50 hours      |
| Maximum Cloud Shell usage time per month             | 120 hours     |
| Retention period for data stored outside the home directory if there are no active sessions | 1 hour         |
| Retention period for data stored in the home directory if there are no active sessions   | 120 days      |
