# SIGN



#### Syntax {#syntax}

SIGN( number )
```

#### Description {#description}
Returns the sign of the number `number`:
- `-1` if the number is negative.
`0` if the number is zero.
- `1` if the number is positive.

**Argument types:**
- `number` — `Fractional number | Integer`


**Return type**: `Integer`
