# Creating a community

1. Open the DataSphere [home page](https://datasphere.yandex.cloud). In the left-hand panel, select ![community-panel](../../../_assets/console-icons/circles-concentric.svg) **Communities**.
1. Click **Create community**.
1. Enter a name for the community.
1. Optionally, provide a community description.
1. Select a Yandex Cloud [billing account](../../../billing/concepts/billing-account.md).
1. Select an [**availability zone**](../../../overview/concepts/geo-scope.md).
1. Click **Create**.
