# Deleting a community

You can only delete the communities in which you have the `datasphere.communities.editor` or `datasphere.communities.admin` role [assigned](../../../organization/security/index.md#add-role).

1. Open the DataSphere [home page](https://datasphere.yandex.cloud). In the left-hand panel, select ![community-panel](../../../_assets/console-icons/circles-concentric.svg) **Communities**.
1. Select the community you want to delete.
1. In the top-right corner, click **More** and select **Delete** from the drop-down list.
1. In the window that opens, click **Confirm**.

In fact, [resource deletion](../../../overview/concepts/data-deletion.md) can take up to 72 hours.
