# Creating a classification

- Management console {#console}

  1. In the [management console](https://console.yandex.cloud), select the [resource folder](../../../resource-manager/concepts/resources-hierarchy.md#folder) you created the metadata catalog in.
  1. [Go](../../../console/operations/select-service.md#select-service) to **Yandex MetaData Hub**.
  1. In the left-hand panel, select ![image](../../../_assets/console-icons/folder-magnifier.svg) **Data Catalog**.
  1. In the list that opens, select the metadata catalog where you want to create a classification.
  1. In the left-hand panel, select ![image](../../../_assets/console-icons/tag.svg) **Tags and classifications**.
  1. Click **Create classification**.
  1. In the **Name** field, specify a unique name for the classification.
  1. Optionally, describe the classification.
  1. Optionally, select **Mutually exclusive**.

      With this option on, not more than one classification tag can be assigned to any Data Catalog resource.

  1. Click **Create**.

  With the metadata AI markup on, the AI assistant automatically creates classifications and tags and uses them to mark up your metadata. You can confirm, edit, or reject the classifications and tags suggested by your AI assistant by hovering over the **AI** icon next to the suggestion and selecting the action.
  
  You can enable the AI markup when [updating](update-catalog.md) the metadata catalog or on its page, **Overview**.
