# Deleting a child term

- Management console {#console}

  1. In the [management console](https://console.yandex.cloud), select the [resource folder](../../../resource-manager/concepts/resources-hierarchy.md#folder) you created the metadata catalog in.
  1. [Go](../../../console/operations/select-service.md#select-service) to **Yandex MetaData Hub**.
  1. In the left-hand panel, select ![image](../../../_assets/console-icons/folder-magnifier.svg) **Data Catalog**.
  1. In the list that opens, select the metadata catalog you want to delete a term in.
  1. In the left-hand panel, select ![image](../../../_assets/console-icons/book.svg) **Terms and glossaries** and select the glossary containing the term.
  1. Select the parent term from the list of terms. Its child terms will be presented in the drop-down list.

      To find a term, enter its ID or name in the search bar above the list of terms.

  1. Click ![image](../../../_assets/console-icons/ellipsis.svg) next to the child term and select **Delete**.
  1. In the window that opens, click **Delete**.
