# Updating a domain

- Management console {#console}

  1. In the [management console](https://console.yandex.cloud), select the [resource folder](../../../resource-manager/concepts/resources-hierarchy.md#folder) you created the metadata catalog in.
  1. [Go](../../../console/operations/select-service.md#select-service) to **Yandex MetaData Hub**.
  1. In the left-hand panel, select ![image](../../../_assets/console-icons/folder-magnifier.svg) **Data Catalog**.
  1. In the list that opens, select the metadata catalog containing the domain you want to update.
  1. In the left-hand panel, select ![image](../../../_assets/console-icons/globe.svg) **Domains**.
  1. In the list of domains, click ![image](../../../_assets/console-icons/ellipsis.svg) next to the domain and select **Edit**.  
  1. In the **Name** field, specify a new unique name for the domain.
  1. Optionally, update the domain description.
  1. Click **Save changes**.
