# Creating a notification channel with recipients

1. Select **Notification channels** in the left pane of the window.
1. Click **Create channel** on the right of the page.
1. Specify the channel settings:
    * **Name**: Name the channel.
    * **Method**: Specify the notification method.
    * **Recipients**: List notification recipients.

        To get notifications, the user must:
        
        * Have the `monitoring.viewer` role for the folder with the configured alert.
        * In the management console [settings](https://console.yandex.cloud/settings):
            * Enable **Monitoring**.
            * Specify an email address, phone number, and Telegram account or group.

        To specify a Telegram account or group:

        1. Add the [@YandexCloudNotify_bot](https://t.me/YandexCloudNotify_bot) Telegram bot:

            * To your contacts to send notifications in private messages.
            * To a group to send notifications to that group.

        1. Run `/start` and copy the authorization code the bot generates in response.
        1. In the management console [settings](https://console.yandex.cloud/settings), click **Set up** in the **Telegram** field.
        1. Paste the authorization code and click **Confirm**.

            When sending notifications via Telegram, alert statuses are additionally [color-coded](../../concepts/alerting/alert.md#alert-statuses).

1. Click **Create**. The channel will appear in the list.
