# Yandex Identity Hub pricing policy

The fee for Yandex Identity Hub is included in the charge for paid services. Only fees for connections to external apps are charged separately.

## What goes into the cost of using Yandex Identity Hub {#rules}

The amount for the selected number of users is debited at the beginning of each month.

When you buy a limit for a specific number of users, the amount is debited immediately.

You can [manage](#pricing-management) Yandex Identity Hub billing through the [Cloud Center interface](https://center.yandex.cloud/organization). For more information, see [Billing management in Yandex Identity Hub](operations/manage-billing.md).

## Prices for the Russia region {#prices}

{% note info %}

Yandex Cloud resources are priced differently in different regions. Learn more about available regions in [Regions](../overview/concepts/region.md).

Your payment currency is determined by your contracting legal entity. For more information on creating an account, see [Registering an account in Yandex Cloud](../billing/quickstart/index.md).

## Yandex Identity Hub billing management {#pricing-management}

With [SAML](concepts/applications.md#saml) and [OIDC](concepts/applications.md#oidc) apps, Yandex Identity Hub users can authenticate in [external applications](tutorials/single-sign-on/index.md), such as [Grafana Cloud](https://grafana.com/products/cloud/), [Zabbix](https://www.zabbix.com), etc. Connecting Yandex Identity Hub users to external applications is [billable](#rules). You can [manage](operations/manage-billing.md) Yandex Identity Hub billing through the [Cloud Center interface](https://center.yandex.cloud/organization).

To manage Yandex Identity Hub billing and use its billable features, link a [billing account](../billing/concepts/billing-account.md) to Yandex Identity Hub.

{% note info %}

To link a billing account to Yandex Identity Hub, the following roles are required:

* The `organization-manager.idpInstances.billingAdmin` [role](security/index.md#organization-manager-idpInstances-billingAdmin) or higher for the Yandex Identity Hub organization.
* The `billing.accounts.editor` [role](../billing/security/index.md#billing-accounts-editor) or higher for the billing account.

{% endnote %}

### Monthly connection limit {#monthly-limit}

On their first login to an external application, an Yandex Identity Hub user starts consuming their [organization’s](concepts/organization.md) monthly _connection limit_. Then, until the month ends, this user can log in to any external applications without limitations.

By default, an organization has a non-billable limit of 15 users per month who can authenticate to external applications. After that limit is reached, no new users will be able to log in to external apps.

You can [view](operations/manage-billing.md#view-stats) information about users consuming this month’s connection limit at any moment. When a new month begins, the data on connection limit consumption is reset.

{% note info %}

To view connection limit usage data for an organization, you need the `organization-manager.idpInstances.billingViewer` [role](security/index.md#organization-manager-idpInstances-billingViewer) or higher for that organization.

{% endnote %}

### Changing the connection limit {#modify-limit}

You can [increase](operations/manage-billing.md#modify-limit) the connection limit at any time. Still, extra users above the non-billable limit will be [billed](#rules). The connection limit is increased immediately after payment.

You can also reduce the connection limit. In this case, the already paid connections will remain valid until the end of the current month, and the changes will take effect starting from the first day of the next month. The minimum value is 15 connections.

{% note info %}

To change the connection limit in an organization, you need the `organization-manager.idpInstances.billingAdmin` [role](security/index.md#organization-manager-idpInstances-billingAdmin) or higher for that organization.

{% endnote %}

## Cost calculation examples {#examples}

### Example 1 {#example-1}

Your organization has 10 users who need access to external applications.

By default, the organization has a non-billable limit of 15 users per month who can authenticate to external applications. This means you will not be charged for using Yandex Identity Hub.

### Example 2 {#example-2}

At the beginning of the month, your organization had 15 users who needed access to external applications. Now, you need to increase the user limit to 130.

> (130 - 15) × $4.08196656 = 115 × $4.08196656 = $469.4261544
> Total: $469.4261544.

Where:

* 130: Limit on the number of paid users.
* 15: Non-billable number of users.
* $4.08196656: Cost per user per month for 101 to 500 users.

Immediately after the limit increase, there will be a debit of $469.4261544.

At the beginning of each following month, there will be further debits of $469.4261544.

### Example 3 {#example-3}

At the beginning of the month, your organization had 130 users who needed access to external applications. Now, you need to increase the user limit to 600.

> (600 - 130) × $3.66 = 470 × $3.66 = $1,720.2
> Total: $1,720.2, a one-off payment.

> (600 - 15) × $3.66 = 585 × $3.66 = $2,141.1
> Total: $2,141.1, per month.

Where:

* 600: New limit on the number of paid users.
* 130: Old limit on the number of paid users.
* 15: Non-billable number of users.
* $3.66: Cost per user per month for 501 to 1,000 users.

Immediately after the limit increase, there will be a debit of $1,720.2.

At the beginning of each following month, there will be further debits of $2,141.1.

### Example 4 {#example-4}

At the beginning of the month, your organization had 600 users who needed access to external applications. Now, you need to reduce the user limit to 400.

> (400 - 15) × $4.08 = 385 × $4.08 = $1,570.8
> Total: $1,570.8, per month.

Where:

* 400: New limit on the number of paid users.
* 15: Non-billable number of users.
* $4.08: Cost per user per month for 101 to 500 users.

The current month has already been paid for, so reducing the limit will not result in any charges.

At the beginning of each following month, there will be a debit of $1,570.8.
