# Creating a custom rule set

Custom [rule sets](../../concepts/standard-compliance/index.md) include security control rules for the [Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM)](../../concepts/cspm.md#rules), [Kubernetes Security Posture Management (KSPM)](../../concepts/kspm.md) and [Threat Detector (TD)](../../concepts/threat-detector.md#rules) modules. These rule sets apply within Security Deck [workspaces](../../concepts/workspace.md). If you have no workspaces yet, [create](../workspaces/create.md) one.

{% note info %}

To perform operations with custom rule sets, you need the `security-deck.editor` [role](../../security/index.md#security-deck-editor) or higher.
