# Deactivating and activating a workspace

## Deactivate a workspace {#deactivate}

To stop security checks, deactivate your workspace:

* All parameters and workspace data will be preserved.
* Updating parameters will not be available.
* Creating new resources will become impossible, but you can still delete existing workspace resources.
* Only the storage of collected data will be charged. The guaranteed retention period is no more than 90 days.

- Security Deck UI {#cloud-sd}

  1. Go to [Yandex Security Deck](https://center.yandex.cloud/security/).
  1. In the left-hand panel, select ![vector-circle](../../../_assets/console-icons/vector-circle.svg) **Workspace**.
  1. At the top of the window, select the correct [workspace](../../concepts/workspace.md).
  1. To the right of the workspace name, click ![ellipsis](../../../_assets/console-icons/ellipsis.svg) and select ![alt text](../../../_assets/console-icons/ban.svg) **Deactivate**.
  1. In the window that opens, confirm the deactivation.

## Activate a workspace {#activate}

- Security Deck UI {#cloud-sd}

  1. Go to [Yandex Security Deck](https://center.yandex.cloud/security/).
  1. In the left-hand panel, select ![vector-circle](../../../_assets/console-icons/vector-circle.svg) **Workspace**.
  1. At the top of the window, select the correct workspace.
  1. Click **Activate**.
  1. In the window that opens, confirm the activation.
