# Creating a notification channel

To create a new notification channel:

1. Open Grafana using the `https://grafana.sys.<cluster domain>` link and log in with your username and password.
1. Open the **Contact points** section.
1. Click **Create contact point**.
1. In the window that opens, enter a name for your new channel.
1. Select the integration type, such as the email addresses to send notifications to.
1. Click **Save contact point**.

The channel will appear in the notification channel list. From now on, you can use it when configuring your notification policies. To do this, specify it in the policy settings under **Contact point**.
