# How committed volume of services (CVoS) works

## Case description {#case-description}

You need to understand how the *committed volume of services (CVoS)* works.

## Solution {#case-resolution}

After purchasing the *CVoS*, the discount for using services applies automatically. You can check your usage details by products in your account. Learn how to view your usage details in [this article](../../../billing/operations/check-charges.md).

{% note info %}

You will begin consuming the CVoS:

* Starting from the next hour, provided that the purchase is made effective today.
* From 00:00 Moscow time on the selected date, provided that the purchase takes effect on a date different from today.

You can find a detailed algorithm for using and paying for CVoS on [this page](../../../billing/concepts/cvos.md#how-to-pay).

Please note:

* If the actual volume is less than or equal to CVoS, the debited amount is calculated as per the agreement.
* If the actual volume exceeds your CVoS, you will be charged for the difference between the total volume and the CVoS based on standard prices.
